Tucker Carlson ripped for peddling conspiracy theory that COVID was made to spare Jews

Commentators are slamming Tucker Carlson for peddling the conspiracy theory that COVID-19 was made in a way that rendered Jewish people immune to the deadly virus.

On the Monday episode of “The Tucker Carlson Show,” the host brought up Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s baseless claim that COVID could be “tailored” to have more adverse effects on specific groups of people.

Jewish organizations have widely condemned Kennedy’s crazed theory, which was first reported by The Post.

Carlson’s guest, author and researcher Andrew Huff, said it was “scientifically true,” adding: “There was a finding in a scientific publication that two different populations … of people of Jewish ancestry — depending on which line they’re from — one was more heavily impacted than the others.”

Carlson chimed in to explain that Huff was referring to “Sephardic/Ashkenazi” Jews.

Some of the backlash against him for entertaining the conspiracy theory with Huff — who previously worked for EcoHealth Alliance, a lab that studied viruses — came from fellow conservatives.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) sarcastically wrote on X about Jews running the Chinese lab that the White House considers the point of origin for the virus.

“Wait– the Jews were running the Wuhan Institute for Virology?? Who knew?” he wrote with a woozy emojii.

RedState.com writer Bonchie noted that anyone still pushing theories about COVID being created by Jews is a “clown.”

It’s not the first time Carlson has faced allegations of antisemitism. Jewish groups and Israeli media outlets recently accused the ex-Fox News host of stoking antisemitic conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Right-wing commentator Arynne Wexler wrote on X: “And Europeans blamed the Jews for the Black Death. That led to massacres. We’re talking thousands of Jews slaughtered, burned alive, entire communities annihilated. Tucker isn’t creative, he’s copying centuries-old blood libel.”

Eyal Yakoby, a recent University of Pennsylvania graduate who sued his alma mater over claims of antisemitism, voiced his outrage, too.

“Covid-19 was created by the CCP, but rather than ridicule the CCP, Tucker has managed to blame the Jews somehow,” he wrote on X.

The backlash against Carlson was first reported by Mediaite.
